The RCN Valencia has crowned today, on the third and last day of competition, the new champions of the Spanish Catamaran Cup. A final installment of competition in the capital of the Turia marked by adverse weather conditions, rain, wind that has reached 23 knots of intensity and waves of 2 meters have conditioned a lot, being the Class A who have been able to close a test, the rest of the fleet has been left without being able to compete.

The Valencian Toni Ballester (RCN Valencia) started the day under enormous pressure in the Class A, given that he had a small advantage and knowing the harsh weather conditions in the regatta field. The only test that has been completed, Ballester signs a 2nd place, while his direct rival and teammate, Rafa González scored his second partial victory, insufficient to snatch the title from his teammate. The bronze went to another sailor from the host club, Abdón Ibáñez who, like the rest of the fleet, was unable to complete the race.

With all this, the representatives of the RCN Valencia climb to the top of the podium. Ballester is champion with 14 points, followed by González, with 21, and Ibáñez is one point behind.

Regarding the Class A classics, Kike Cornejo was proclaimed champion, while Gustavo Doreste obtained second place in this category.

Rivas and Sánchez continue to expand their record in the F18

The F18 have remained blank, the results of the two previous days being valid after completing a total of 7 tests. Toni Rivas and Jordi Sánchez (CN Garraf) won the Spanish Cup with a total of 13 points, highlighting two partial wins in their locker. Silver for Fabián Migoya and Alberto Torné (CN Vilanova), with only three points difference, while the bronze went to Mitch and Rita Booth (CV Palamós), with 14 points.

The tandem Marc Jovani and Marta Porta (CN Cullera) take the Spanish Cup to Cullera. This class has not been able to compete either and with 6 closed tests, of the 9 planned, they win the title, achieving 5 points after taking off their worst partial in their locker. The second place travels to RCN Dénia at the hands of Jacobo Miquel and Arnau Muñoz (RCN Dénia), with 11 points. The bronze went to the current champions of Spain: Juan Antonio (CR Pobla Marina) and Tono Llabrés (RCN Valencia), with 14 points.

Marc Verdaguer and Lluïsa Puig take the Cup to L'Escala in Girona

Regarding the Interseries, also with 7 events completed, the Catalans Marc Verdaguer and Lluïsa Puig (CN L'Escala) have imposed their law in Valencia achieving full, with 7 wins out of 7 events completed. After the discard, the Catalan tandem add 6 points. With 12 in his locker, Alfredo Bernard (CN Vilassar de Mar) has been placed, completing the podium Joan Carles Tonisastre (CM Montgat) and Alex Collins (CV Palamós), with 20 points to his credit.

The award ceremony was attended by Rafel Chirivella, Vice President of the FVCV, as well as Abdón Ibáñez, member of the Board of Directors of the RCNV and National Secretary of Class A, accompanied by other representatives of the Valencian Club.
