The RCN of Valencia, protagonist in the launch of the Olympic Week at FITUR
The Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community has brought to the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, the 9th edition of the Valencian Community Olympic Week, an international regatta that, encompassing the main Olympic and pre-Olympic sailing classes, Every year it promotes nautical tourism in the Valencian Community by attracting hundreds of elite athletes, coaches and families who take the opportunity to travel and enjoy the good weather that the Mediterranean offers in February. An act that has had the RCN of Valencia as one of the main actors. The president, Marisa Arlandis, has participated in the launch of this Dinghy Sailing regatta, with international projection and in which the Club will host several classes, highlighting the national 29er in addition to being a valid test for the Eurocup circuit. Along with them, at the club facilities in the capital of Túria we will find the fleets of Finn, Vaurien, Snipe, Waszp, F18, Class A, Hobie16 and Patín a Vela. One of the great novelties of this edition is that it is going to become the most crowded so far. 'We have managed to break the participation record by getting more than 600 sailors registered from last year' confirmed Jose Manuel Liceras, director of the regatta, during the presentation. 'We are going to continue working to take advantage of the kilometers of coastline that we have in our Community and to continue being a meeting point for sailors from all over the world' said Rafel Chirivella, vice president of the FVCV. And this ninth edition, organized by the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community together with the RCN Valencia, the RCR Alicante, the CN Santa Pola and the RCN Torrevieja and thanks to the promotion of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and the Generalitat Valenciana, has confirmed 8 European and national titles at stake among the more than 21 modalities that will be in competition, it will be held from February 1 to 18. Another of the great novelties is that on this occasion, the test will also be the venue for the EuroCup for the 29er class during February 1 to 4 at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia. 21 modalities, 4 venues and 8 European and national titles at stake Divided into four venues, so that all modalities compete simultaneously, the regatta program is structured as follows: At the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante there will be the three ILCA modalities (4,6 and 7) along with the 420 and will host the 2024 Spanish Championship of the ILCA7 class. The different modalities of IQFoil, Raceboard, BIC Techno 293 and windsurfer will meet at the Santa Pola Nautical Club. It will be here that the IQFoil will celebrate their 2024 Spanish Championship. The Real Club Náutico de Valencia will host the 29er with a great novelty and that is that this pre-Olympic class, in addition to fighting for the national title, on this occasion, will also have at stake the EuroCup. Along with them, at the club facilities in the capital of Túria we will find the fleets of Finn, Vaurien, Snipe, Waszp, F18, Class A, Hobie16 and Patín a Vela. And finally, it will be at the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja where the regatta will be held, which in turn is the Spanish Cup, for the Europe, Flying Dutchman and RC IOM classes.
