Mateo and Simón Codoñer, runners-up in the World Sailing Junior World Championship

New success for Mateo and Simón Codoñer in the 29er class. The RCN de Valencia sailors have hung the silver medal in the World Sailing Junior World Championship that has been held in Oman since the 13th and ended today.

After completing a total of 13 tests in the 5 days of competition, the Codoñer tandem, current world champions of the class, have remained only 5 points behind the gold, achieved by the French Hugo Revil and Karl Devaux, runners-up in Valencia in SUB17 .

The appointment in the United Arab Emirates that has been marked by little wind, in general lines with an average of 5 to 10 knots of N-NE intensity, except for this last day that has predominated from the East.

The consistency in this youth World Cup has been key to the success of Mateo and Simón Codoñer, although their start was with a 10th place. After that result the following were good scoring partials of 6-1-2-8-5-7-10-8-1-12-2. After the two discards applied (10-12), the Valencians are left with a total of 51 points, compared to 46 that the Revil and Devaux have obtained.

The bronze went to the Americans Ian and Noah Nyenhuis, fourth in the absolute for Valencia, 8 points behind the Codoñer brothers.
