The President Trophy, with three scheduled tests: January 16 and 30 and February 20, opens the 2022 course to the cruiser fleet of the RCN of Valencia and does so with a first installment marked by little wind, but highlighting the very high participation arriving to the 24 registered boats, although the figure would have been somewhat higher given the current health situation that has taken its toll. A situation that has forced the organizing committee to take special measures before the start of the competition, at the shipowners' meeting, and at the end of it, canceling the scheduled paella as usual.

With the legendary and now traditional coastal route to El Perelló, with a total of 8.1 miles of route, the fleet began its voyage at the scheduled time: 12:00 hours, with a wind intensity of 6-7 knots. A fairly stretched start on the line, although the big favorites opted for the viewfinder, among which were Brujo, M8, Aquarelle 1 and Majoche mainly.

The fleet continued to stretch much further to El Perelló, although the Aquarelle 1 and already in the vicinity of that beacon took command of the fleet, although maintaining a good fight with the Swan 42 Brujo and M8 in terms of the 'big ones' while in those of smaller length the Majoche imposed its law clearly. The smallest of the fleet, meanwhile, made their regatta aware that these wind conditions played in their favor.

On the finish line, located this time at the same starting point and not at the entrance to the RCN in Valencia, the Aquarelle 1 was the first in real time, arriving at 3:28 p.m., followed by the Brujo, M8 and behind the first 40.7: Majoche, at 3:41 p.m.

After obtaining the compensated times, the provisional podium in ORC 1-2 closed with M8, Issabela and Brujo. In the ORC 3, Majoche was left with the first place, with a difference of just over 8 minutes over the second: Pestañeo and 28 minutes from the third: Archer Dos. With regard to the ORC 4-5 fleet, the Hang Loose was the fastest, but overall it occupies second place behind the 'little' of the group: Un Mar sin Barreras, while the bronze goes to the Blue Lizard . The Promotion Class closes the classification, with Suguru first, followed by Inquetín-Alhambra and Sueiro.
