The Real Club Náutico de Valencia is pleased to announce that the journalist and editor Enrique Curt will receive next Saturday the Nautical Communication Award that the club has awarded annually since 2018. This award recognizes the journalistic work related to sailing and nautical in general, covering a wide spectrum of media and supports, and in its first edition it was given to the journalist Pedro Sardina, current director of ABC de la Náutica, for his journalistic career in the world of sailing and nautical. Sardina then went on to preside over the awards jury, which is made up of sailors, directors of RCN Valencia and members of the club's work team.

The prize will be awarded next Saturday, July 6, during the shipowners' dinner of the XXI SM La Reina Trophy, and consists of a scale replica of the SM La Reina Trophy.

Enrique Curt, 2019 award

The 2019 Nautical Communication Award has been unanimously awarded to the journalist, editor, promoter of nautical events and ocean sailor Enrique Curt, founder of specialized magazines such as Skipper, with 44 years of uninterrupted circulation, and editor of others such as Regata, as well as twelve publications on various current affairs.

His work as a specialized journalist has marked the evolution of the cruise fleet in our country, and he currently continues to lead Curt Ediciones and Difusión Náutica, with new challenges and planning events with passion and enthusiasm. Curt was also a promoter and winner of the Copa del Rey de sailing, in which he worked as press officer for 25 years.

As a sailor, his concerns have led him over the years to participate in the Mare Nostrum of the time, the Transmed, the Two Hostar, the Parmelia Race, the Discovery Route, the Atlantic Grand Prix, the Vuelta a España or the Thousand Miles. In addition, he can boast of having been the first Spaniard to participate in La Solitaire du Figaro, sailing solo in the waters of the English Channel and Ireland.

“It is an honor and a satisfaction for me that the Real Club Náutico de Valencia has designated me this year's Communication Award and to remember with him over the past years and with a very important baggage of sailing friends that I have in this club and throughout the Valencian Community. Thank you all, good bow”, assured the journalist after receiving the news.

“Enrique Curt is the true dean of the Spanish press. Editor of the most important nautical magazines in Spain, press officer for major regattas and organizer of major nautical events. Enrique is the mirror in which you have to look at yourself in our sport”, says the journalist Pedro Sardina, president of the jury of the RCN Valencia Communication Awards.

"We want to recognize the work of journalists and the media that support sailing, and encourage greater coverage of this sport, since in Spain we have great nautical events and many very good sailors," said the president of RCN Valencia, Alexander Fliquete.
