This Monday, at the Petxina Cultural Sports Complex and with the presence of the former Councilor for Sports of the City of Valencia, Pilar Bernabé, with Josep Miquel Moya, Director General of Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and Albert Soler, Director General of Sports of the CSD among other personalities was held the XXII edition of the Ciutat de València Sports Merit Awards, with the Real Club Náutico de Valencia as one of the great protagonists.
The Club, which was represented by its president, Marisa Arlandis, accompanied by directors Eduardo Navarro and Chema Escudero, as well as its Sports Director, Pedro Quiroga, received three awards, two of them in the category of Best School-Age Athlete, The awards went to Blanca Ferrando and Carlos Espí, both silver mentions for the successes achieved in 2021. Also, in the same section regarding Sports for School Ages, the Real Club Náutico de Valencia received the award for the best club 2021 with silver mention.
Blanca Ferrando was the great absentee, being her sister Marta who collected the award. The RCN de Valencia sailor is currently at the start of the World Championship in the Optimist class in Turkey. A few days later, Espí will be the protagonist, in Denmark, participating with Spain in his second European Championship.
The success of the base sport of the RCN of Valencia has been once again demonstrated with the level offered by our young sailors who do not stop adding victories, both nationally and internationally, the one recently achieved by Irene de Tomás in ILCA 4, the brothers Mateo and Simón Codoñer in 29er and that both face together with the rest of the RCNV sailors a European class appointment in Denmark, together with Sergi Soler, the sisters Sara and Isa Momplet among others.
