• On the weekend of November 7 and 8, the tests for individual classes will be held, and on November 14 and 15 it will be the turn of the double categories.
  • The test is the Autonomous Championship for all classes and scoring for the Autonomous Laser Cup, Bic Techno 293, iQFoil and Raceboard.

The Real Club Náutico de Valencia celebrates the 60th edition of one of its most emblematic dinghy sailing regattas: the Great Valencia Trophy, which had to postpone its usual spring date due to the health crisis and is now recovering with a double appointment.

The regatta will be held in two parts, over two consecutive weekends. On November 7 and 8, the Bic Techno 293, Open Foil and Raceboard boards will compete together with the Laser class, being the Autonomous Championship and scoring test from the Autonomous Cup for all of them.

The event has managed to bring together more than 120 athletes from all parts of the Valencian Community, who for two days will measure forces in a maximum of 6 tests at the Manel Casanova regatta field.

Flying boards

The table modalities, which have more and more fans, have been gradually increasing their presence in this regatta. In addition, this year the iQFoil modality is incorporated into the Great Valencia Trophy, which will be an Olympic class starting at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, when it will replace the RS: X class. These are boards that incorporate appendages called foils, which allow them to navigate over the water as if they were flying.

On November 14 and 15, double classes

The weekend of November 14 and 15 will be the turn of the double classes Snipe, 29er and 420, for whom the regatta will also be the Regional Championship. In fact, the Snipe class is the one with the longest connection to the Great Valencia Trophy, since for many years it was the main category that competed in the Valencian event, bringing together a very large fleet.
