The Open Bahía de Altea has returned for another year to launch the regional dinghy sailing calendar in 2024. After two days of intense regatta, the event closed successfully in the bay of Altea, the good weather conditions allowed the 6 scheduled races to be completed. The best ILCA 7, Flying Dutchman and 420 sailors from the entire Valencian Community have measured themselves in the water on January 20 and 21, with a significant participation of sailors from the RCN of Valencia. In the 420 class Fernando Puig, from RCN Valencia, together with his teammate Kevin Lenis from CN Jávea collected the first trophy at all. Alejandro Rodríguez and Jesús Campos from RCR Alicante were first in sub-17 and Carlota Gómez and Noor Saidi from CN Javea were first in female sub-17. The Puig-Lewis tandem was unrivaled in the fleet of 420, with 12 crews registered. Both made the absolute total, six out of six, after winning the six tests that the committee put into contention. Puig's success was accompanied by Pablo Bellver's fourth place in ILCA 7, leaving him just two points away from the podium. His partials were good: 2-7-2-8-6-2. The Levante Trophy 2023 already has its champions. The event organized by the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, scoring for the FVCV Autonomous Cup for the ILCA 6, 29er and 420, has brought together 200 sailors from the Valencian Community, Madrid, the Balearic Islands, the Region of Murcia and with Ireland giving the international touch to the regatta. An edition that has been marked by the wind, although the Valencia event has shined once again for its excellent organizational level. Already on Saturday Eolo put the emphasis on the two regatta areas, greatly conditioning the program. A day that concluded with three tests for the Snipe, two for the 29er, 420, ILCA 6, Hobie Cat 16, Vaurien and Patín a Vela, while the ILCA 4 say goodbye to the Valencian event with one. On the second day the wind was completely absent and after several hours of delay in the water, with the fleet ready to start, the committee hoisted 'Intelligence on A' and everyone ashore around 3:00 p.m. without being able to complete a test , validating yesterday's results to configure the podiums in the participating classes and in the respective categories of the ILCA fleet. Along these lines and in terms of the double classes, starting with the 29er, the podium has been closed with Sara and Isa Momplet (RCN Valencia). Three partial victories have helped him win the title. Silver and bronze for Elena de Tomás and Obdulia Fernández de Ybarra and Mateo and Simón Codoñer, all from the host club. The Real Club Náutico de Calpe closed its Dinghy Sailing Trophy this past Sunday and did so by crowning the new champions in the classes: ILCA 4, ILCA 6, 420 and 29er. First big event of the season and scoring for the Autonomous Cup for these last three classes for the ranking of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community, which has led to the best gathering in Calp.
