Bainbridge returns in style at the Cutty Sark FKSS Valencia

Connor Bainbridge was proclaimed winner of the Cutty Sark FKSS 2021 Valencia today. The Briton had to fight until the last heat with the Croatian Martin Dolenc and assured his victory in the last gasp after thirteen races disputed between Friday and Sunday with the collaboration of the Real Club Náutico de Valencia. In the general classification of the Cutty Sark FKSS circuit, the Russian Denis Taradin remains the leader, who finished third in Valencia.

In women, the winner was the North American Daniela Moroz, while the Spanish Gisela Pulido finished in fifth place. Julia Damasiewicz leads the circuit with Pulido in third position behind Valeria Garashchenko of Russia.

And it has been to arrive and kiss the saint ... He has won five of the thirteen races disputed and has always been among the best. His dismissal was a ninth. And this regularity has been the one that has led him to triumph. Although today it was not easy for the Croatian Martin Dolenc who was the only one who reached the final day with options to beat the British. Dolenc pressed with a first and a second in the first two tests of the day, but Bainbridge secured the victory in the last heat by entering ahead of the Croatian.

Connor Bainbridge explained after his triumph: “After seven months without competing I felt a little rusty, but little by little I have taken the form and I have been able to win. It was a fantastic event, with wind every day and very good regattas. I feel relieved after not competing for so long knowing that I have not lost the 'feeling' of the competition. This is a great way to start the season for me. Debut with 74 kites has been a challenge and the truth is that we have enjoyed it. Now we are going to Castellón and we will be training there until the regattas of the weekend, which also promises great emotions ”.

Moroz, unrivaled in females

Moroz explained at the end: “I am very happy because I had taken a break since last year and the truth is that this was my first championship and it was very important to be with the best. I have been able to open a gap with the girls in these three days and the fact that I finished with the first 20 boys is very good for me because the fleet here has been impressive. Yes, I have jumped from the SailGP to the Cutty Sark FKSS and although they are different things between the two circuits there are certain similarities. At the end of the day, in both cases they are foil regattas and I love foil! "

Feisan vence in the F-One FKSS Amateur

Feisan explained: “It is the first time I have participated in this regatta and it has been a great experience. In the first heat I made a rookie mistake because I skipped the door due to little lack of knowledge and not having read the regulations more, but well luckily there was wind both days and the event was spectacular. We were able to make a discard and in all the rounds made the first place so I am really happy with my victory. I'm already thinking about next week in Castellón ”.

The award ceremony was attended by Alejandro Fliquete, president of RCN Valencia, accompanied by Rafa de Tomás, Vela Member, and Sergio W. Smith, FKSS General Director.

Pilar Bernabé seen the Pinedo beach

Pilar Bernabé, Councilor for Sports of the Valencia City Council, today visited Pinedo beach, the base of the Cutty Sark FKSS. The councilor has been accompanied by Rafa de Tomás, RCNV Sailing Member and Carlos Beltrán, Manager, as well as by the competition representative: Sergio W. Smith, General Director, and the sailors Gisela Pulido and Alex Climent, who explained it some technical aspects of this competition and material with which they compete.
