Bianca Tamani and Carmela Marzal were the female champions

The sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, Isidro Codoñer and Alex De Castro, yesterday put the icing on the cake to a weekend of triumphs by proclaiming themselves the Snipe youth champions of Spain in the regatta held at the Club de Mar in Almería, with victory also in the female category for Bianca Tamani and Carmela Marzal.

The Valencian club attended the meeting with four teams, who have signed a very good performance. Codoñer and De Castro were very consistent with four seconds, a fourth place and a seventh that have been discarded, rising with the final victory after an interesting duel with the second classified, Fernando Reche and Martín Fresneda from Almeria, only one point behind. .

For their part, the Valencian Bianca Tamani and Carmela Marzal were proclaimed youth champions of Spain in the female category, with a 12th place overall. The other two RCN Valencia teams that took part were the duo formed by Marcos Altarriba and Carlos Botella, who were tenth, and Juan Pablo Muñoz and Diego Andrés Muñoz, in 23rd place.

“It was a very close race until practically the last heat. The first day we could not do any tests due to the lack of wind. On the second day we did two and a quarter seconds, which reflects the consistency we had during the championship. And on the last day the wind rose as the day went by and we started badly, with a 7. However, we managed to regain the regularity we had previously with two insurance to end up achieving the victory, ”Isidro Codoñer pointed out.

The Snipe class is experiencing a great moment at RCN Valencia, with the remarkable increase in the number and quality of sailors, and the holding of events such as the Snipe Master Cup of Spain that is held this week in Valencian waters.
